St. Louis OpenSolaris User Group - STLOSUG

About Us

The St. Louis OpenSolaris User Group brings together everyone in the St. Louis metro area who's interested in learning more about the OpenSolaris and Solaris operating systems. Whether you're new to OpenSolaris or a seasoned sysadmin, a developer, or simply a curious computer user, we encourage you to join us.

STLOSUG is a SIG (special interest group) affiliated with the St. Louis UNIX Users Group

Next Meeting: Tuesday, November 17, 2009

Topic: Implementing CIFS services in OpenSolaris

We'll take a look at the implementation of CIFS-related services in OpenSolaris, both client and server. The focus will be primarily on workgroup mode, but we'll also talk about domain mode, and cover the various name mappings available. In the end, we'll see how ZFS filesystems can be shared via CIFS, and how an OpenSolaris host can connect to other CIFS servers.

Meeting Info

Address: 342 West Port Plaza; Maryland Heights, MO 63146

Time: Meetings begin at 6:00pm with a welcome to new members, followed by a short Q&A roundtable. The meeting presentation will follow, typically at 6:15.
