Announcing - The 1st New York's {Open}Solaris Community User Group meeting of 2010!

Hello all and welcome back to the New Year and ...much more!

Following the extended holiday break, the New York {Open}Solaris User Group will be resuming
holding its monthly meetings, and we've got one planned for January 28th, 2010.

At this meeting, we will be joined by Tom Abazia, one of Sun's Sr. Systems Engineers projecting Sun's technologies to one of worlds leading banking institutions.
Tom will lead a talk on one of today's hottest technologies, Hadoop and containers, and how it is being adopted by his customer.

This presentation will discuss the use of Solaris Containers for distributed computing using the Hadoop Map/Reduce open source software framework,
including the use of Sun Grid Engine as a framework to manage Apache Hadoop workloads.

Sun is located at 101 Park Avenue, northeast corner of East 40th street and Park Avenue. 2 blocks from the Grand Central Station and subway routes 4, 5, 6. Sun Microsystems, Inc. is located on the 3rd and 4th floors. For after-hours meetings, please sign-in with the security guard in the lobby and proceed to the right-most elevator bank. Upon arrival, check-in at the security desk. Due to the building's security requirements, it might be easier if you've registered prior to the day of the event. Proceed toward the right-most elevator banks, and take a lift up to the 4th floor.
