Charter
The New York {Open}Solaris User Group has been established to connect members of the community interested in OpenSolaris and Solaris, and to grow the OpenSolaris community in the New York area. All are welcome - developers, open-source contributors, system administrators, architects, and any other interested parties. We also plan to cover general technology related areas, such as networking protocols, high-availability designs, database best practices, and interesting open source projects.

Meetings
NYCOSUG is now holding its meetings on the last Thursday of each month. The main reason we chose this was to avoid colliding with any other NYC-based user groups. (Occasionally, there may be some exceptions - as there have been in the past, based on speaker availability or scheduling conflicts). Meetings have thus far been held at the Sun Microsystems office, 101 Park Avenue, 4th Floor [Grammercy Park Conference Room], Manhattan, NYC. If you would like to propose or help secure a venue for our group to meet, please feel free to do so. Meetings will generally run from 6:00 to 8:00/8:30PM, with light refreshments being served at each event.

Sun is located at 101 Park Avenue, northeast corner of East 40th street and Park Avenue. 2 blocks from the Grand Central Station and subway routes 4, 5, 6. Sun Microsystems, Inc. is located on the 3rd and 4th floors. For after-hours meetings, please sign-in with the security guard in the lobby and proceed to the right-most elevator bank.
