The 5th New York {Open}Solaris Community User Group meeting.
The New York OpenSolaris User's Group (NYCOSUG) will be holding it's monthly meeting on Wednesday, January 30th at the Sun offices in midtown, New York City.
You are cordially invited to take part in this event.
The featured topic will be a discussion of an end-user service component of the Predictive Self-Healing framework in OpenSolaris, namely, Service Management Facility. We are honored to have Christine Tran as our guest speaker. Christine works in the Solaris Adoption Practice. She is aware of the pains of systems administration, having started out as a sys-admin, and ends up more focused in that aspect of Solaris than any other. She's been at Sun for 8 years, and if there's one thing she wants for Solaris, it's an integrated systems management interface (GUI optional), and iTunes. :-)
Meeting will start at 6pm. We are also planning on giving out media DVDs so that participants could install and experiment with Solaris Express Developer Edition 1/08 distribution. For details about SXDE, please see http://sun.com/sxde
