The 13th New York {Open}Solaris Community User Group meeting is here! The New York OpenSolaris User's Group (NYCOSUG) will be holding it's next monthly meeting on a special Thursday, November 20th at the offices of Sun Microsystems Inc., in midtown New York City. At this meeting we will be sharing and co-hosting our monthly event with our friends from the UNIGROUP community of New York. (UNIGROUP focuses on all flavors of Unix and members of the group had expressed interest in having pure OpenSolaris/Solaris topics covered at one of its upcoming meetings - and so this is one example of that)
[Please RSVP by 11/18, so we have an approximate count]
We'll get started with refreshments @ 6:30pm.
Please stay tuned as the agenda is being finalised, but we will have the following topics at this event:
1) Zones and OpenSolaris 2008.11 Updates - what's new in Zones technologies and in particular what's new with the OpenSolaris 2008.11 release in general.
Speaker - Jerry Jelinek - Sr. Engineer on the OpenSolaris Kernel Development team, member of the Zones Team, Sun Microsystems Inc.
2) {Open}Solaris Kernel and User-space: Performance, Observability, Debugging
Speaker - James Mauro - renowned Solaris contributor, speaker and expert. Sr. Staff Engineer at Sun's Systems Group Qualify Office.
(Bring your OpenSolaris books that Jim co-authored for him to sign!)
Meeting will start at 6:30pm with light refreshments, etc.
