CaCert Assurances:

The NLOSUG will offer the possibility to get yourself CaCert assured at
the meeting on February 26, 2009. CaCert is a not-for-profit (and Free)
Certificate Authority, based on the web of trust. After signing up and
being assured by a couple of (other CaCert) assurers you enter a
state where you can obtain free x.509 certificates for E-mail, (web)
servers or Code signing. You will be able to assure other people as
well. More info can be found at http://www.cacert.org.

Some Additional info:

The CaCert system has recently be relocated to Ede (NL). This has
been made possible by a generous donation from ao. Sun Microsystems
The Netherlands. The infrastructure runs on Open Source (currently
Linux), and all the applications are also released as Open Source.

and a working E-mail address. Ack the E-mail address ping.
  2. Print 3 Assurance forms with your name on it (under CAP/TTP Forms)
  3. Bring the form to the meeting and sign it in the precence of an assurer
while showing Photo IDs (passport / drivers license) (if you show 2
pieces of government issued photo ID, you'll get more Trust (points))
  4. The Assurer will assign points to your account.
  5. Once you get enough trust points you can assure people yourself and start issuing your  certs from the CaCert site.
