This group exists to drive awareness and adoption of Solaris and OpenSolaris in
the Melbourne region of Australia. We are unashamedly technical in our meetings, and focus on the technologies, rather than any single product.
Our desire is to increase technical awareness and skills, and to help enable adoption of Solaris based technologies wherever they are a good fit and encourage users to become more familiar and active with OpenSolaris and the new features made available over time either through Solaris, Solaris 11 Express or OpenSolaris based distros.
It is hoped that the MSOSUG will ultimately contribute documentation and code changes back to the community. If you would like to contribute, let the list know.

Where?
When?
We frequently cover topics that are core to Solaris, and also one layer removed. (ie: Hardware and occasionally Apps). Recently we have covered IPS (Image Packaging system), AI (Automated installer), iSCSI 101 using COMSTAR, Solaris 11 Express new features and installation as well as a host of other interesting and solaris related topics.
Speakers start at 18:30 sharp, with Pizza arriving somewhere around 20:00ish.
If you would like to attend, see the link to sign up on the ug-msosug mailing list, so you see the announce emails, which will include topics for the month as well as relevant solaris emails from folks on the list living in Solaris day to day.
To anyone who meets with or talks to folks interested in Solaris: Please
let everyone know about the meeting, the time and the date. We have a great core group of 30+, and would love to continue to grow the group.
A note on access: The Lifts in the building and entrance to Level 5
automatically lock early in the evening, so access will be provided by
Oracle folks on-site. A sign will also be placed close to the ground floor
lifts with a contact number, should you arrive after the start of the
meeting.
If you are interested in Solaris, doing interesting things with, or on
Solaris, we want YOU!
See our Past Presentations and Materials page - though it's woefully unmaintained...
