Hello and welcome to the KBOSUG page!

We are happy to have been accorded official user group status by SUN even though there's until now just the 3 of us:

Abdullah Ghaznawi, Said Adil Hashemi and myself, Said Hakim Hamdani.

We all live in Kabul, Afghanistan and work together in the German Clinic.

UNIX is a rarity here in Afghanistan and we hope to raise some interest in the local computing community to try out OpenSolaris or even use it as a single desktop operating system.

Anyone who is resident in Afghanistan and wants to try out some good, solid UNIX is welcome to contact us via the OpenSolaris.org mechanisms or via firstname DOT name AT dkgmdc DOT com.

A big thanks out to Jim Grisanzio, who kindly set us up with this space to share our Wild Wild East of UNIX experiences.

Stay tuned, we hope to hold our first official event soon, a good old installfest, and put up some pictures of the machines here running OpenSolaris and what it really is we use them for. ;-)

Best wishes,

S. Hakim
