Eleventh Irish OpenSolaris User Group Meeting

You've missed this talk unfortunately, but Tim has a writeup on his blog, and we've also got mp3 audio from the night as well - listen on!

 Topic  Lightning Talks & Installfest
 Date  Tue June 26th
 Time  7:00pm onwards
Location  DIT Kevin St, Lecture Theatre KE: G-007

This month, we're trying something new.  We're going to hold a series of Lightning Talks about all things OpenSolaris-related. The idea is, to hold short 5-minute presentations, big on content, low on slideware!

Here's our talk schedule so far:

Tim Foster  BFU^HI - A Blindingly Fast Introduction to OpenSolaris
Fintan Ryan  Fintanr's top 5 DTrace one liners
 Sean McGrath  OpenSolaris Resource Controls
 Conor Nolan  OpenSolaris self-test portal
Tim Foster  2007 - some fast highlights
Tim Foster  Why you should (and shouldn't!) run OpenSolaris on your laptop
Michal Pryc  Irish OpenSolaris User Group - ideas ?

For this to work, we need participation from you guys: please let us know if you'd be willing to give a 5-minute, 3-slide talk next Tuesday and what you're planning to speak about, and we'll add you to the schedule above. If you have slides in advance, send them to us and we'll load them all on the one laptop to save time. Template available here if you want to use it.

We'll also be bringing along an install-server, loaded with the latest sets of OpenSolaris bits in a variety of distributions, so bring along machines you'd like to have installed, or blank media to take copies of these images.

Finally, June marks the 2nd Anniversary of OpenSolaris.org, we hope that WE CAN HAS BIRTHDAY CAIK as well - we'll try to bring food of some sort :-)
