We do have a Wiki too.

OpenSolaris is actually 2 things:
OpenSolaris.org the open source project* based on Solaris 10 source code that Sun started to release in 2005.

OpenSolaris.org is the place where Nevada] is cooking since all future versions of Solaris will be based on this code base. It is also the place where the Solaris code is ported to new platforms like PowerPC,in addition to x64 and SPARC,  and where support for new laptop hardware is developed.

Who is an OpenSolaris user ?

Anyone who is using Solaris is potentially a OpenSolaris user. If you're a developer, a sys. admin or an end-user interested in what's under the hood, you are probably one.

What is CHOSUG and what is it for ?

CHOSUG is the community of OpenSolaris users based in Switzerland. It is open to everybody and participation to all CHOSUG events is free of charge. The only requirement is that you should be ready and interested to share your knowledge and experience related to OpenSolaris.

Who is behind CHOSUG ?

CHOSUG was initiated by a couple of Sun employees based in Switzerland who are leading that effort. We are actively recruiting non-Sun CHOSUG leaders: if you're interested please visit the CHOSUG leaders page.

How to contribute ?

You can contribute to CHOSUG by either:
coming to our meetings and Beer2Beer gatherings*. Watch the announcements for details.

  • adding content to CHOSUG Wiki
  • joining the mailing list. Watch this page for instructions.
  • watching the forum
