The second part of this month's meeting will again be of a workshop format. If you could bring along your laptop with the latest development release (134) installed in VirtualBox you will get more out of the meeting. Please also note that this meeting is on Level 19, at 25 Grenfell St (Oracle).

• First up are lightning talks. These are 5-minute talks on a single topic. Just come along on the night and talk! You might want to lead a short discussion on a topic of your choice.

• Then Mike Bukva from Oracle will run through the current Oracle Server lineup, including the newly released x86 lineup. He'll also look (briefly) at storage.

• After this we'll pick up where we left off from last time on building SourceJuicer in a (Virtual)box. This should provide a useful tool to reduce cycle time in getting ".spec" files right for new packages. 

During the meeting we'll distribute OpenSolaris T-Shirts, mini-books and "Powered by OpenSolaris" stickers (once you've successfully installed of course :-) ).

There will be an opportunity to bring your OpenSolaris/Oracle Solaris issues and questions to the assembled group (without fee :-), particularly installation issues. Installation disks will be available at the meeting (including OpenSolaris 2009.06, release 134) so you might want to bring your laptop and install, eat pizza and learn about OpenSolaris.

The meeting is free and open to the public.

At the Meeting

We had a good meeting with an attendance of seven.
