26 October 2010

This months meeting agenda is:

  • First up are lightning talks. These are 5-minute talks on a single topic. Just come along on the night and talk! You might want to lead a short discussion on a topic of your choice.
  • Then Brett Lymn will talk about writing a device driver for Solaris, something we all know is possible, just not sure where to start.
  • After this we'll discuss recent events and distributions including Oracle Develop and OpenIndiana.

During the meeting we'll distribute OpenSolaris T-Shirts, mini-books and "Powered by OpenSolaris" stickers (once you've successfully installed of course :-) ).

There will be an opportunity to bring your OpenSolaris/Oracle Solaris issues and questions to the assembled group (without fee :-), particularly installation issues. Installation disks will be available at the meeting (including OpenSolaris 2009.06, release 134) so you might want to bring your laptop and install, eat pizza and learn about OpenSolaris.

The meeting is free and open to the public.
