Oracle legal has requested that all Oracle sponsored open source comply with the new Oracle Contributor Agreement (OCA). The OCA is the legal document that an external party must sign in order to contribute source code to a Oracle-sponsored project. Amongst other things, the OCA assigns Oracle joint ownership of the copyright of that code, and is what allows us to manage the source code for the community and to produce commercial versions of our projects.
