Here are some screenshots corresponding to the version of Visual Panels
that recently underwent its LSARC inception review. For in-depth
discussion of the UI elements seen in these screenshots, see the
design document.

Navigation
On the left are the categories into which panels are placed (yes, the
categories themselves are both poorly chosen and poorly named). On the
right are "lozenges" representing the various panels. In this case
they happen to also be SMF services, but that isn't a requirement. The
lozenge identifies the panel, provides quick access to some common
controls, and can display simple status information.
The Apache overview tab
The overview tab describes the service, shows its status, and provides
access to available actions.
The Apache virtual hosts tab
Configuring many services involves managing a set of objects. In the
case of a web server, one can potentially have multiple virtual hosts.
Here you can see the virtual hosts view for Apache.

Navigating to a virtual host shows you its configuration. Note that we
keep things in the same window instead of popping up dialogs that the
user has to chase around. Breadcrumbs showing your location are found
in the blue bar beneath the tabs.
The Share management share view (icon)
Managing shared file system, like managing a web server, ultimately
requires configuring multiple objects. Here you can see the Shares tab
within the Share Management panel. In general, we would like to keep
the various object views looking as similar as possible, though in this
case you can see some variation from the example set by Apache is
necessary to account for the hierarchical nature of share groups.
