ILB - Integrated Load Balancer Project

Overview

ILB project will deliver the basic features that will allow a user to use Solaris on a x86/SPARC platform as a L3/L4 load balancer. In addition to this, this capability can also be complimentary to existing higher layer load balancing solution from different ISVs.

The basic components of ILB project are the following:

  • Stateless DSR and NAT operation modes with round-robin, src-IP hash, (src-IP,port) hash and (src-IP,VIP) hash based loadbalancing algoritms  Layer 3 and Layer 4 server monitoring capabilities
  • High availability and active-standby redundancy capability
  • Command-line interface and a configuration API

The ILB project is open for questions and suggestions ... please subscribe to the ILB discussion mail list to participate in the project,
