Overview

This section is a top level place holder for various Naming service documents
such as Sparks documentation.

Additionally this page contains copies of previously written documents
from past ARC cases related to naming services plus link to new related
documents from the sister efforts (Duckwater, Winchester etc.)

Native LDAP Phase 2 (and later) Architecture Specification

This document was originally an internal only document.  It is a
living document discussing the internal design of the libsldap library
component.  libsldap is the SUNWprivate glue library that performs
most of the actual work done by nss_ldap, ldapaddent, ldap_cachemgr,
ldaplist.  These APIs are not public APIs.  These APIs are very volatile
and often change build to build.  They are not to be used by
tools outside the nameing service project without a specific
ARC contract on these APIs.

These APIs will change in incompatible ways at any time.

The document may not be completely accurate, but is the currently
the best documentation that exists for this code at any time.
It is often best to refer to the actual library code to determine the
actual behaviors at any given time.

Setting Up OpenDS 1.0.0 as a Naming Service for the OpenSolaris OS

team, detailing the steps needed to setup OpenDS 1.0.0 for use with Solaris
