The Network Storage project consists of drivers, libraries and utilities in support of storage interconnect technologies including both Fibre Channel and iSCSI. The Network Storage project currently includes:
- Fibre Channel Transport
- Interfaces for Fibre Channel HBA Drivers and hardware
- iSCSI (software initiator)
- Solaris iSNS Server
- Storage Management APIs
- Storage Management Utilities
- Sun StorageTek Availability Suite (AVS)

- As of build 102, all source code for the Network Storage consolidation is now integrated into the OS/Net consolidation. There will be no further updates to the source tarball on this page. All future updates to the NWS source will be done through the OS/Net consolidation.
- Compiler notice: The Network Storage Consolidation source code utilizes the Sun Studio 11 compiler as of Build 52.
