NFS RDMA transport update and performance analysis

NFS/RDMA

The project update was delivered to the onnv-gate on Aug 21st 2008, and is available since onnv build 98.
It is included in OpenSolaris 2008.11 Try it out!!  

The NFS/RDMA project updated the OpenSolaris implementation of RPC for infiniband transports.  
Key improvements delivered in the update:
  - Protocol compliance with the outstanding proposals within the IETF NFSv4 working group.
  - A variety of design enhancements focused on improving performance and other bug fixes  
  - Enables interoperability between Solaris and Linux 

The IETF NFSv4 WG documents of interest are:

  1. NFS RDMA Problem Statement
  2. RDMA Transport for ONC RPC
  3. NFS Direct Data Placement

Initial work for this update was done by a team at Ohio State University under the direction of Dhabaleswar K. (DK) Panda who from an initial prototype done at Sun.
