First of all, welcome to this project page!
We're here to create and develop a glossary (that is, a collection of terms and the definitions). Users may look up a Solaris term and learn what it means and does in this glossary. Translators will find inspiration on how to translate a term into their native languages because this glossary helps them understand the technology. As more and more academic institutions and users adopt Solaris as their choice of the operating platform, they are in need of good reference material. This glossary can be just that. Quite exciting, we must say. So please join the team. Make this glossary project happen! This page provides information on how you can do that.
This is a project on OpenSolaris.org, even though the Glossary is hosted on a different machine, at least for the time being anyway. We decided on this to ease the contribution process by using the MediaWiki software that many people are familiar with through Wiktionary and Wikipedia. However, the OpenSolaris.org community process is honored in this project, including the requirement for contributors to sign the Oracle Contributor Agreement. Browsing and using the glossary does not require OCA.
