Fstest

We have decided to use fstest test suite written by Pawel Jakub Dawidek. It is quite complex but very easy to use. Linux port is available here; it works pretty nice in OpenSolaris.

Fstest consist of 12 groups of scripts, each group is intended to test one file system function or system call:

• chflags
• chmod
• chown
• link
• mkdir
• mkfifo
• open
• rename
• rmdir
• symlink
• truncate
• unlink

Fstest uses prove(1) utility from perl 5 package.
