Articles Page Redesign (http://opensolaris.org/os/articles/)
Need to articulate this in detail because that section of the site will have to be re-coded to support a re-design. For now, we'll just post there in the format it supports or post to different communities.
Writers and Reviewers

  • Need to identify who is writing and who is reviewing. Should we open pages with names of both categories?
  • Types of writers and their areas of expertise:
  • Types of reviewers and their areas of expertise (technical, language)

Draft Content Submission Process:
Author submits content via content-discuss@opensolaris.org mail list
Determination is made as to the level of review needed based on how technical the content is.
Content is sent to reviewers, who determine if the article is appropriate and gives the author any initial feedback.
After any initial changes have been made the article will be posted to "drafts" area where anybody can review. During this period, a language check will be done for grammar, style, spelling, etc. After one week, the authors submits the final version and it goes up to the site (or within a community or is published externally).
Removal of Obsolete Material

  • Discuss on list the need to remove old, incorrect material.
  • Discuss on list the need to archive old but valuable material.

Blog Content
Process for soliciting new or extended versions of content from various engineering blogs ...
Attribution Issues
Content Project contributions are offered, discussed, edited, and reviewed via the content-discuss@opensolari.org mailing list and website project space. Contributions from community members who own those contributions. If you have signed the Contributor Agreement you don't need to do anything else. If you have not signed the Contributor Agreement but would like to offer your contribution under an established license, a good choice would be Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike. If a contribution is offered without a license or contributor agreement, the OpenSolaris website Terms of Use will apply.
