The Project Clearview early access builds will be made available on this page.  We will release a new set of builds as features warrant.  When a new build is ready, we will send out an announcement to networking-discuss and clearview-discuss.

Licensing

The files on this page are covered by either the OpenSolaris Binary License (OBL) or the Common Development and Distribution License (CDDL) Version 1.0.  The specific license for the file will be listed in the column labeled "License" in the tables below.

The pre-built BFU archives contain binaries/source for high key-strength crypto, known as the Encryption Kit (SUNWcry, SUNWcryr). Please note that certain countries restrict the redistribution of high key-strength crypto. If you live in one of these countries, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are complying with your country's laws in this area.

NOTICE PURSUANT TO SECTION 9 OF THE COMMON DEVELOPMENT AND DISTRIBUTION LICENSE (CDDL)

The OpenSolaris code released under the CDDL shall be governed by the laws of the State of California (excluding conflict-of-law provisions). Any litigation relating to this License shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Federal Courts of the Northern District of California and the state courts of the State of California, with venue lying in Santa Clara County, California.

Current Build - 103

Important note:  These are debug builds!  These builds are not suitable for performance testing, and will take up more memory than non-debug builds.

Installation Instructions

Use the standard bfu procedures  to install these bits on top of an existing Solaris Nevada installation.  We suggest the most recent release of the Solaris Express Community Release.

See the download links above for a link to the ONbld package.

Step by step, here's how to install the Project Clearview bfu bits over an existing Solaris installation:

Example:
The files cv-example-build.sparc.tar.bz2 and cv-example-SUNWonbld-build.sparc.tar.bz2

were downloaded to /tmp/cv_tmp.

/usr/bin/bunzip2 cv-example-build.sparc.tar.bz2
/usr/bin/bunzip2 cv-example-SUNWonbld-build.sparc.tar.bz2
/usr/bin/tar xvf cv-example-build.sparc.tar
/usr/bin/tar xvf cv-example-SUNWonbld-build.sparc.tar.bz2
/usr/sbin/pkgadd -d /tmp/onbld SUNWonbld

/opt/onbld/bin/bfu /tmp/cv_tmp/cv-example-build.sparc

One can use acr script to resolve conflicts (described on the bfu procedures  page):

bfu# acr

Check the log file listed in the acr output. If conflicts still
exist edit them manually. If not then reboot.

bfu# reboot
