Overview
The OpenPegasus CIM Server, an open source project managed by the Open Group, is an implementation of the DMTF CIM and WBEM standards. This project will port that codebase to the x86 and SPARC platforms on OpenSolaris, and contribute our changes back to the OpenPegasus community.
Providing this CIM server on OpenSolaris will address gaps in current functionality, including out-of-date CIM schema, non-standard provider APIs and lack of secure port connectivity.
This page will point back to a source-download from the OpenPegasus community and to the Network Storage consolidation for the codebase delivered here; binary downloads will also be available from this page. Our goal is to integrate into the NWS consolidation in early June '08 and to contribute to OpenPegasus in time for their 2.8 release.
Status
The initial porting effort is underway, with a current focus on testing SSL, SLP and PAM functionality. Experts in these subject areas are invited to offer insights with some roadblocks we're hitting; please contact us via the storage-discuss (at opensolaris.org) alias if you're interested.
Our intent is to begin putting back changes to OpenPegasus as soon as possible, pending internal approvals around open source and legal issues.
