*Layout:  
  *What layout should we use?  
  *Are there performance considerations with regard to how files and filesystems are laid out? Should we use zfs?  
  *Should layout be the same as livecd? How do we translate liveCD layout to net image layout?  

[DM] Don't assume the live CD layout is immutable.
