Caiman Architecture

This project will define and clarify the architecture for Caiman. 

The defined architectural requirements for Caiman are:

  • Capable of easily incorporating new features
  • Support multiple platforms (physical/virtual)
  • Flexible to meet changing customer needs
  • Reusable and extensible for OEMs
  • Deep integration with Solaris features
  • Scalable automation - few to thousands of systems installs
  • Use standard protocols
  • Built in support for diagnosability 

The central architectural points are:

  • Generating an AI manifest from an interactive installation is a driving concept
  • Checkpoint capability in engine aids productivity, supportability
  • Consistency in logging, progress, error messaging aid ease-of-use and supportability
