About
This project was chartered to develop a Trademark usage and Branding Guideline policy that covers the use of the OpenSolaris Trademark.
Once it was developed and approved by the project members, the proposed policy was submitted to Sun's Branding and Marketing decision makers, and adopted as the OpenSolaris Trademark/Branding Policy. As Sun owns all rights to the trademarks, and the OpenSolaris Community Charter explicitly reserves those rights for Sun, there was no point in putting the guidelines to the OpenSolaris Community Membership for a formal vote.
