Below are some pointers to more resources for getting involved with OpenSolaris. If you're a member of an OpenSolaris Community Group, Project, or User Group and you have a participation process we could link to from this page, please email website-discuss AT opensolaris DOT org.
There are three types of Collectives and they contain hundreds of groups on opensolaris.org. Pick an area that interests you, subscribe to the mailing list(s) to find out what's going on, start talking to people, and just get involved. Also, many groups publish lists of ways to contribute to their projects.
The OpenSolaris project requires contributors to jointly assign their copyright on contributed code by signing and submitting a Oracle Contributor Agreement. Refer to the OCA FAQ for answers to your questions.
Refer to the OpenSolaris Development Process document for more information. You can also join a project or start a new project. Refer to the instructions for starting a new project on the projects page.
For questions or discussion about specific code, the discussion list for the related project or community, or the opensolaris-code mailing list can be used.
Efforts for and around the OpenSolaris project continue to grow outside of this website. Community efforts like blastwave.org, cuddletech, genunix.org, sunfreeware.com, and BeleniX are examples.
