OpenSolaris Collectives
This page describes the three types of Collectives hosted on the opensolaris.org web site. The links point to pages that contain a complete listing for each type and other details such as how to create a new collective of that type.
Refer to the Leadership Manual for step-by-step instructions for adding users to your collective, editing wiki pages for your collective, or managing source code repositories for your collective.
Community Groups
OpenSolaris Community Groups are social groups whose members engage in open conversations, that endorse technical Projects and that have representation in the governance process.
Projects
OpenSolaris Projects are collaborative technical efforts that may produce code changes, documents, images, translations. Projects have source code repositories that are managed with version control software to enable structured cooperation.
User Groups
User Groups are independently-run groups that advocate for OpenSolaris. There are many benefits to participating in a User Group: you can meet users and developers in your local community and around the world; you can participate in meetings and conferences; you can get t-shirts; you can learn how to best participate in and contribute to OpenSolaris.
