About OpenSolaris

OpenSolaris is a binary distribution, an open source engineering project, a website of multiple services, and a global community of developers and users. The project's goals are innovation, collaboration, and the extension of OpenSolaris technology.

The OpenSolaris Community

The OpenSolaris project is sponsored by Oracle, and the OpenSolaris community is organized into hundreds of Collectives with many thousands of people around the world. Community Groups sponsor development Projects and maintain source repositories and binary products, and User Groups evangelize the technology and participate in community-development programs.
