1: = ZFS Test Suite Info 2: 3: === Test Cases 4: 5: The ZFS Test Suite can currently be downloaded [[here>>http://dlc.sun.com/osol/test/downloads/current/]]. You can browse the source [[here>>http://src.opensolaris.org/source/xref/test/ontest-stc2/src/suites/zfs]]. You should also check out the test suite [[README>>http://src.opensolaris.org/source/xref/test/ontest-stc2/src/suites/zfs/README]]. 6: 7: The ZFS Test Suite consists of a number of test directories. The following list describes the directory name and its purpose. 8: 9: * **acl** - Tests trivial and non-trivial ACLs 10: * **atime** - Various tests of the access time property 11: * **bootfs** - Ensures the bootfs zpool property is working correctly 12: * **clean_mirror** - corrupts one half of a mirror while writing new data to the mirror 13: * **cli_root** - Performs basic testing on each the of the zfs and zpool subcommands while runing as root. 14: * **cli_user** - Performs basic testing on the zfs and zpool subcommands while runing as a non-root user. 15: * **compression** - Verifies that turning on compression actually comrpesses files. 16: * **ctime** - Tests that creation time is updated 17: * **delegate** - Will verify the delegated administration model 18: * **devices** - Ensures devices can be created in a ZFS file system 19: * **exec** - Checks that execution of binaries can be enabled/disabled on a ZFS file system 20: * **grow_pool** - Verifies that non-replicated pools can grow 21: * **grow_replicas** - Verifies that replicated pools can grow 22: * **history** - Performs basic administration operations and ensures that the history log is updated correctly 23: * **hotspare** - Tests the hotspare functionality 24: * **inheritance** - Sets file system properities and verifies that each property is inherited in various scenarios 25: * **interop** - Creates a pool using an SVM volume to ensure interoperability 26: * **inuse** - Checks that file system utilities ignore disks that are in use by ZFS 27: * **iscsi** - Basic iSCSI testing (see iSCSI test execution mode for more detailed testing) 28: * **large_files** - Creates large files in a test pool 29: * **largest_pool** - Simulates very large pool sizes 30: * **link_count** - Checks behavior of file link counts 31: * **mdb** - Ensures that ZFS related mdb(1m) macros are working 32: * **migration** - Migrates data from UFS file systems to ZFS using different command line utlities 33: * **mmap** - Tests for race conditions using mmap(2) 34: * **mount** - Shows how to autogenerate test case using mount as an example 35: * **mv_files** - Moves files from on ZFS file system to another 36: * **nestedfs** - Basic nested file system testing 37: * **no_space** - Checks behavior of the ZFS file system when there is no space remaining 38: * **online_offline** - Marks disks as offline/online during I/O 39: * **pool_names** - Steps through all valid and a sample of invalid pool names 40: * **privilege** - Checks that administration roles work with the ZFS utilities 41: * **quota** - Verifies file systems with quotas 42: * **redundancy** - Tests the pool redundancy features by simulating failed disks 43: * **remote** - Runs a small selection of tests on a remote client 44: * **rename_dirs** - Checks how ZFS handles renamed directories 45: * **replacement** - Verifies the disk replacement feature 46: * **reservation** - Ensures that reservations are upheld in a number of different scenarios 47: * **scrub_mirror** - Causes disk failures on a replicated pool and verifies that the pool can recover 48: * **snapshot** - Various snapshot, rollback and clone tests 49: * **sparse** - Checks how ZFS handles sparse files 50: * **threadsappend** - Ensure multiple threads performing write appends to the same ZFS file succeed. 51: * **truncate** Tests file truncation within ZFS 52: * **utils_test** Verifies that various UFS utilities fail on ZFS file systems 53: * **write_dirs** Verifies that filling a file system does not prevent files from being erased due to copy-on-write semantics 54: * **xattr** - Checks ZFS extended attributes 55: * **zones** - Verifies zone related ZFS features like zone cloning 56: * **zvol** - Tests that zvols can be used for swap and other zvol scenarios 57: 58: === Baseline Results 59: 60: The following table shows the known failures of the ZFS Test Suite running in a //global zone//. Failures that are not listed in this table should be analyzed to determine whether or not a bug exists in ZFS or in the test suite itself. 61: 62: |=Failing Test Case|=Associated Defect ID 63: |tests/functional/cli_root/zfs_destroy/zfs_destroy_001_pos|6342462 64: |tests/functional/cli_root/zfs_destroy/zfs_destroy_005_neg|6342462 65: |tests/functional/cli_root/zfs_set/mountpoint_003_pos|6567408 66: |tests/functional/cli_root/zfs_share/zfs_share_005_pos|6565575 67: |tests/functional/hotspare/hotspare_detach_001_pos|6491604 68: |tests/functional/inheritance/inherit_001_pos|6506000 69: |tests/functional/inuse/inuse_003_pos|6355481 70: |tests/functional/iscsi/iscsi_006_neg|6495382 71: |tests/functional/mdb/mdb_001_pos|6515139 72: 73: The following table shows the known failures of the ZFS Test Suite running in a **non-global zone**. Failures that are not listed in this table should be analyzed to determine whether or not a bug exists in ZFS or in the test suite itself. This table is much shorter because most zpool administration features are not applicable to non-global zones. 74: 75: |=Failing Test Case|=Associated Defect ID 76: |tests/functional/cli_root/zfs_destroy/zfs_destroy_001_pos|6342462 77: |tests/functional/cli_root/zfs_destroy/zfs_destroy_005_neg|6342462 78: |tests/functional/cli_root/zfs_set/mountpoint_003_pos|6567408
