This page is designed to take users through an overview of the data structures associated with the ZFS filesystem. It is not intended as an introduction to ZFS – it is assumed that you already have some familiarity with common terms and definitions, as well as a general sense of filesystem architecture.
Currently we only have one diagram. Additional information will be provided over time.
This page and the source tour should be seen as supplements to each other.
Here are the in-core data structures representing a single file in ZFS. Note, only the *_phys_t structures are actually written to disk.
