Virt-install Test Suite
The virt-install test suite is designed to test the functionality of the virt-install xVM guest installation utility. It is written in Python to take advantage of some of the Xen and virt-install python utilities.
Test Cases
The Test Cases are broken down primarily by VBD (Virtual Backing Device) so users can test installations to various types of backing stores.
Each of these test cases install a PV (Paravirtualized) Nevada Guest to that type of backing store. Note that the File test case also exercises the virt-clone command to create copies of the original guest install.
Installs a RHEL 5.2 guest to a zvol
Installs an HVM Nevada guest via PXE. Please note the special instructions needed to set up this test case.
Installs a PV Nevada guest with 10 VBDs (all zvols), 24 GB of ram, and 16 vcpus. Note that the dom0 must have two plumbed network interfaces but the number of VBDs, amount of ram for the guest, and number of vcpus can be modified for smaller systems.
