Auth-Defect Integration: User Actions

On Monday June 6th Bugzilla at defect.opensolaris.org will be integrated with Auth at auth.opensolaris.org for single sign on. No data will be lost in the integration. After the integration, Bugzilla will no longer use the email addresses and passwords in its database to authenticate users, but instead the application will use the opensolaris.org usernames and passwords from Auth. This is the same integration process that has been done with other applications on the site. Also, the Bugzilla application will be updated to have the opensolaris.org graphical look and feel.

There are actions for some users that must take place by Friday June 3rd for the integration to be successful for those users. See the three sections below:

1. Account in Bugzilla but not Auth

Community Members: 

• If you have an account in Bugzilla but not in Auth:
  • Register in Auth:
    • https://auth.opensolaris.org/register.action
  • Make sure your email address in Auth is the same as it is in Bugzilla:
    • https://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/ (links: Preferences -> Name and Password)

Oracle Employees: 

• If you have an account in Bugzilla but not in Auth:
  • Register in Auth:
    • https://auth.opensolaris.org/register.action
  • Make sure you use your oracle.com email address in Auth.
  • Make sure your account in Bugzilla also uses your oracle.com email address:
    • https://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/ (links: Preferences -> Name and Password)

2. Account in both Bugzilla and in Auth

Community Members: 

• If you already have accounts in Bugzilla and Auth:
  • Make sure your email address is the same in both systems:
    • https://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/ (links: Preferences -> Name and Password)
    • https://auth.opensolaris.org/login.action (link: Edit your account)

Oracle Employees: 

• If you already have accounts in Bugzilla and Auth:
  • Make sure your email address is oracle.com in both systems:
    • https://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/ (links: Preferences -> Name and Password)
    • https://auth.opensolaris.org/login.action (link: Edit your account).

3. Deadlines & Help

Deadline: Friday June 3rd. If your email address is not the same in both systems, and if Oracle employees do not use their oracle.com email address in both systems, then your Bugzilla account will be inactivated and a new account will be created if you continue to use Defect.
