PPD Cache Management

Purpose

 Provide a tool to add a PPD file to the system's PPD file repository and add an entry in the system's PPD cache file used by the Solaris Print Manager (printmgr) GUI to display supported printer information.

Key Goals

• Provide users with a way to add a PPD file to the system and update the system's PPD cache file.
• Follow the Free Standards Group (FSG) OpenPrinting Group standard installation locations for PPD files.
• Enable lpadmin -n to also update the system's PPD cache file.
