This web page has information about optimizations in Solaris for Non Uniform Memory Access (NUMA) machines which is known as the Memory Placement Optimization (MPO) feature in Solaris and its open development.
Here is a slide presentation overview of MPO that discusses the motivation, goals, abstraction, architecture, optimizations, APIs, tools, performance, and status. There is an updated version of this presentation
that includes issues, possible improvements, and future directions listed below under "Documents/Presentations".
NOTE:// These presentations contain some pictures that some older PDF file readers may not display correctly, so a StarOffice version of the update is provided below.
There is also a short description of MPO on the web site of the Sun Partner Advantage program for ISVs with an old whitepaper that may be useful.
NOTE:// These presentations contain some pictures that some older PDF file readers may not display correctly, so the original StarOffice version is provided too.
