Subject: Flag Day: x86 build machines need SUNWggrp from SFW

This flag day is for x86 build machine maintainers. SPARC builds are
not affected at this time because the affected code is only
built for x86.

Beginning with version 2.18, the GNU assembler dropped support for the
-K option. The GNU assembler wrapper, usr/src/tools/aw/aw.c, has been
modified to conditionally add the -K option depending on the version of
the assembler. The wrapper now uses ggrep to perform the version test.

In order for the upcoming ON bits to compile and build correctly, x86
build machine maintainers will need to have the latest SUNWggrp package
installed on their systems.

The SUNWggrp package has been included in the core meta cluster for some
time although we were not able to determine exactly when it was added.
If you do not already have the package, you can obtain it from the SFW
consolidation gate:

http://onnv.sfbay/links/ws/sfwnv-gate/packages/i386/nightly-nd/SUNWggrp/

Alternatively, running /ws/onnv-gate/public/bin/update_sfw will result
in the latest version of this (and all other SFW packages required by
ON) being updated.

Thanks,
George
