Subject: FLAG DAY: IP Instances

The putback of PSARC 2006/366 IP Instances
(http://sac.eng/Archives/CaseLog/arc/PSARC/2006/366/)
represents a flag day for Cap-Eye Install users.

This project enhances zones by providing IP-level isolation when
different zones are connected to different LANs or different VLANs. The
zonecfg command is used to select whether a zone should use the shared
IP Instance (sharing datalinks, routing, etc with the global zone), or
have its own (exclusive) IP instance and separate datalink interfaces.
The details on how to configure this is in the PSARC materials above
(also available at http://opensolaris.org/os/project/crossbow/Docs/).

This project changes some private userland to kernel interfaces for zones.
As always, BFU works fine.

Please send any questions or comments to the I-team;
stack-instance-iteam at sun dot com.

The normal cat/subcats can be used to file bugs. For example,
utility/zones   for zone's command bugs
kernel/zones for zone's kernel specific bugs
kernel/tcp-ip for the TCP/IP stack
