Subject: Heads-Up: onbld tools update required (soon)

Greetings,

This is a heads-up for anyone maintaining a build machine. In two weeks,
i'll
be integrating a fix for:

6404908 ON builds should employ a static globalization prefix

Builds containing that putback will require a version of the onbld "cw"
tool
that understands the -W0,-xglobalstatic compiler option, otherwise the build
will fail.

Such a version of cw will be available starting tonight with my putback of:

6448798 need to tell cw about -W0,-xglobalstatic in preparation for 6404908

Build machine maintainers should plan on upgrading SUNWonbld in
anticipation
of 6404908's integration in two weeks time.

Developers building on machines without an upgraded version of SUNWonbld
can also get around this by passing the "-t" option to nightly(1), which
tells the
build to use onbld tools from the local workspace.

The SUNWonbld package is available at:
/ws/onnv-gate/public/packages/`uname -p`/SUNWonbld

Thanks,
-Eric
