Subject: Heads-up: Sparc BFU users BEWARE

Gatelings,

There is continuing fallout from the Studio 10 compiler bug uncovered last
week, which was sidestepped by:

6324631 sparc hwmuldiv support should be in libc

Unlike the previous flag day, this effects all platforms.

Any SPARC machine running bits based on the Nevada clone between 9/7 and 9/15
that is BFUed to bits newer than 9/15 may be affected by:

6327152 bfuing over the fix for 6324631 can cause BFU/acr failures

To check if a particular machine is affected, run:

	% dis -F__mul64 -F__umul64 /lib/libc.so.1 | grep '%o' | wc -l

If the result is *zero*, the problem exists. You should refrain from BFUing
any such machine until 6327152 has been fixed; at that point, I'll send out
an update. If you have an urgent need to BFU such a machine, please contact
me.

Note that machines which are currently BFUed to a numbered build (snv_23,
etc.) are *not* affected.
