Community Reports

There is a lot of work taking place in the OpenSolaris community. In order to inform the OGB, the rest of the community, and those outside our community of all the work that's being done, the OGB will collect reports from the communities, projects, and user groups that make up our community.

The following reports were shown at CommunityOne West, 2009:

This is an ongoing process, we expect to produce a regular report like the above, and then a full annual report that will cover all Communities, Projects, and User Groups.

The aim isn't to produce a voluminous heavyweight document, or require a significant amount of effort - we would expect most reports simply to highlight a small number of key achievements that would be easy to put together, and most active communities would already have this detail to hand.

Some templates you may wish to use are:

• Community Group
• Project
• User Group

Simply edit the header and footer with your group's name and URL (replace the XXX in the URL at the bottom of the template - the only real difference in the templates is that they're populated with the correct base information to save typing), and fill the middle with content. Send the completed document to ptribble@opensolaris.org for inclusion.

If you just have a few bullet points to list, feel free to simply send them as text.

If you have additional content, send that too - we'll try and make use of it. In particular, images or video material, would be valuable.
