- Eligibility to Vote and Polling Credentials
- You are entitled to vote in the Elections if you had a valid Core Contributor Grant as of Feb 14, 2010. Check your status at https://auth.opensolaris.org/collectives.action If this info is incorrect, please report this to your group leaders immediately and file a bug in http://defect.opensolaris.org under the Community/grants category.
- Detailed instructions can be found at the poll web site.
- OGB Nominations
- Any OpenSolaris community member can be nominated to stand for election to the OGB - all you need is a valid log-in ID for OpenSolaris.org. Nominations must however be made by a Core Contributor and accepted by the candidate.
- The final deadline for all nominations and acceptances to be received and recorded in the mail archive at ogb-discuss@opensolaris.org is 23:59 US/Pacific on Monday, March 1, 2010.
- Full details are in Valerie's e-mail
- A list of nominations appears below.
- New Constitution
- The OGB has noted all the comments made publicly and privately and has now published the final proposal for the new Constitution.
- We believe this new document simplifies and clarifies the community governance to match our actual practice and realistic expectations.
- The current OGB is unanimously in favor of the new constitution and recommends a 'Yes' vote.
- Meeting of Members
- Under the terms of the existing Constitution, we have to gather a quorum of the voting membership on irc://irc.freenode.net/#opensolaris-meeting starting at noon US/Pacific on Thursday, February 25th. Quorum has been achieved.
- Please log in to the IRC channel and announce yourself in the format "ogbot register <your OS.o ID> as <your name>" (without the quotes, duh!)
- There is a bot monitoring the channel and recording these announcements as well as all channel discussion (logs)
- All comments made after the start of the meeting will be recorded by the bot as minutes of the meeting.
- Feel free to use the IRC channel to ask, or indeed answer, any questions about the election. The current OGB can be identified as channel operators on the IRC channel.
