Calendar Item:
- Going back to every other week schedule for meeting. Especially through the Summer months. Next
meeting will be on 6/21/09.
J Beck and Deirdre will be out of the office the next six weeks, b/w will work for best for them.
Diana will continue to take notes while Deirdre is out.
June 14th is the 4th birthday for OpenSolaris. A/I: MO will blog something about it.
A/I: MO put together a graphic spot, maybe a cake with four candles in the future spot.
- Michelle does not have an update on the Contributer grant stuff.
May need a backup process for this. Nothing in database as of now.
A/I: MO to do the updates for the Contributer and to add Thomas.
Post- Mortum on Community One - Ten to 20 people in attendance at the formal Townhall meeting last week.
JW asked how many members at the User group meeting - there were about four in attendance.
Keynote sessions this year was well attended.
Bootcamp for usergroups was a huge success.
Deep Dives on Tuesday was a little thin.
JP - get facilitiestors project planned for event for this
Next year - OGB should host a Usergroup event during the conference. Suggest holding a
half of day to have a combined Usergroup meeting .
Before every conference, OpenSolaris needs to reach out to user groups in advance before
event for better attendance and information.
A couple of questions came out of Community One Simon/Jim -
- Why OGB? - is it not well know what OGB is about or how to help. Talked a little about what this group does.
- Please explain constitution thing?
- Escalation process, developers feel like being treated like dirt.
Group for mailing list and user group leaders are on Facebook.
Party - Not everyone got into party that should of been. Sun people turned away who didn't RSVP.
Wasn't planned real well.
Executive not caring about communities - Execs such as CTO's Vincent, Bill, Jeff attended OpenSolaris, all day,
this certainly sets a presents throughout the day. MO feels there is an interest in the OpenSolaris community and
deep interest in user groups and how related to contribution programs and other stuff.
Feedback rollup? A/I - a trip report should be written up to ask to see more of execs showing up at bootcamp and OpenSolaris.
What was successful: Cluster Summit on Sunday- technical meetings all day were great and the crossbow in the evening. The talks were excellent. Jeff and Managers dressed up in costumes to advertise for crossbow, was a good
way of advertising the day before the event.
Hernon at Community One - Event a perfect selling point in getting other user groups together. Maybe have another
meeting mid-year on talking/working with other communities and help each other. about Community events. Great to have
time face-to-face time with other engineers from around the world. Hernon is now in contact with India and Indonesia in
relationships and joint actions.
Renaming Core-contrib-discuss JB - renaming to be a member alias, to core-contrib-members make this moderated with low traffic. Leave it unmoderated
until need to have it moderated.
A/I: John will send email out to group for their approval then to Elaine or Bonnie to change the name and figure out how this is
going work out
Aliases: Role based aliases created. If this is to do, these aliases will need to be created.
All are in agreement.

JW would like to see another column that clearly documents on when to use these aliases.
