Power Management under Solaris

There is active Power Management work being done in the Power Management Community.  Check there for more up-to-date information on CPU Frequency control, Suspend and Resume, and other Power Management projects.

The legacy tool frkit is not actively being updated, and should not be used.  However, the following is information specifically for legacy users.  If you are really interested in mainstream Power Management work, please visit the Power Management Community.

frkit

frkit delivers prototype drivers; see Casper's blog.

To monitor battery status, use frkit to install the acpidrv driver
and see Darren Moffat's blog for a
prototype GNOME applet, or try a patched
GKrellM (binary)
[gkrellm.net].
