What is OpenSolaris Gnome translation ?
Gnome is the default desktop for OpenSolaris. OpenSolaris Gnome translation is about contributing to Gnome translations to enable non-English users also to use Gnome without any language barriers. Here we discuss mostly processes specific to OpenSolaris. For the Gnome community translation process, look into this link. We mostly use Gnome community translations for OpenSolaris, except for Sun specific messages. How to translate Sun specific messages is answered in the next question.

Sun specific messages are provided by patches, These are made available via various means.
