Translating Manual Pages

Let's Translate OpenSolaris manual pages!

This is an attempt to translate OpenSolaris manual pages.  Once you complete the translation, we convert them back to manpages and include them in a new OpenSolaris build.

How to Translate

We will use CTI for translation.  No need to download an application and use it on your desktop.  CTI is a browser-based translation editor. 

• Select a manpage you want to translate from the CTI projects list.

How to Review

• Review should be organized inside each l10n team. 

Tip: You can use 'Add Comment' Feature from new CTI to make a notice about which tasks/files/segments have been already reviewed.

Dictionaries

We strongly suggest to use build-in feature in NEW CTI called Glossary. The terms are proposed during translation as well in a Tolls window. For more information see Getting-Started video explaining those new features. [URL TBD]

Translation Guideline

Glossary

The New Sun OpenCTI tool allows users to access existing Terminology Databases and search inside them. Use 'Terminology' tab in the new CTI and search for a term.  This feature replaces existing tool called SunGloss.

A terms are also suggested during translation of particular segment in Sun OpenCTI tool. See CTI blog entry to find more.
