DTrace Quick Start Guide: Observing Native and Web Applications in Production [PDF] This 36-page book shows you how to use DTrace to collect information about your system or application that you can use to improve the performance of your system or application. DTrace is especially well suited for collecting data about applications running on a live system under a real workload. Free Training and Certification The Sun Academic Initiative (SAI) offers non-profit academic institutions access to free Web-based training and curricula, including courses in the latest Java and Solaris technologies.
Online Learning Center Log in with your Sun Online Account to take courses on the Solaris Online Learning Center and OpenSolaris Learning Center.
Free Software and Development Tools Educational institutions, researchers, and students can obtain no-cost licensing on Sun development tools and other Sun software products through the Sun Software Programs for Education.
Free Equipment, Training, and Certification The Sun Academic Excellence Grant program has helped numerous schools kick-start their projects by providing equipment grants and access to free training and certifications. The AEG provides Sun hardware to educational institutions who have developed creative projects that address Sun priorities and create partnerships for success.
