OpenSolaris Desktop is based on open source communities, with many community members directly to those upstream projects. Desktop quality is very important for OpenSolaris community. Its quality is related with everyone using OpenSolaris, it is critical for customer.
Desktop testing is to communicate desktop application testing progress and its quality, attract and organize people to involve desktop quality-related work. Desktop testing is related with all applications in the desktop, like firefox, thunderbird, lightling, gnome, evolution, flash, Compiz, pidgin, multimedia, Ekiga, Gamin, Vino, A11Y, SSA, MetaTracker, etc. There are lots of open source community or third parties involved in desktop testing. There are lots of OpenSolaris desktop-related testing result in different community, it is hard for people to find out all the related information from different places. The desktop-testing community can benefit desktop user and tester if there are one place to share all the quality information.
The OpenSolaris Desktop Quality Assurance team is made up of a unique community of Sun internal employees and the public community of those who love the OpenSolaris products. We are constantly seeking solid volunteers who can dedicate their time to help us test our features and make a solid product! The following people are part of the OpenSolaris QA team.
