Marketing

There are those in the open source community that break out in a rash at the mere mention of marketing – unless of course marketing translates directly into free t-shirts. Our goal isn't to change this over night and make people love, respect, and see the intrinsic value of marketing – hopefully that will happen organically (while we are handing out t-shirts).

In the meantime, we are members of the community, just like you. We could do put-backs, if we were so inclined. Instead, we will demonstrate our passion and enthusiam through community development, spreading the word, and building awareness of the OpenSolaris project.

We promise to:

• not use words like demographic, target market, audience, or message (much)
• be involved
• assist where we can
• speak in acronyms
• and, of course, give away t-shirts

We are interested in your ideas, experiences, concerns. Use advocacy-discuss to talk about OpenSolaris marketing.
